As a Canadian, I appreciate this piece!
I’m from Minnesota – which much of the US thinks is actually a part of Canada, so hello neighbor!
Hello! When I used to live in the US (Illinois) I mostly blended in, but sometimes people would catch my accent. A couple of times they’d look at me and say, “Hey, are you from Minnesota or Canada?” Apparently, we sound alike. That and the fact that you guys have some of the colder winters in America makes you honourary Canadians in my books!
