The Town Called October

The wind whispers in your ear,

“Nothing here for you to fear.”

But your instincts are to live, not die

and you know the wind tells a lie.

The Moon glows in your eyes,

Lighting in what your path lies,

But the shadows are many and deep,

And you know what monsters they keep.

The tree’s branches touch your skin,

Reminding  you the town is just the woods therein,

But you know they’re holding you down,

And you’ll never make it to October Town.
