Ice in Your Eyes
I look around to flowers and the leaves,
I seek comfort, the place,
where I can be myself
without the constant dread
of harsh looks coming from you
when least expected.
Where is the kindness that breathed
in your every word,
have you forgotten
what compassion means?
These walls no longer care,
as you have stopped to ponder
on memories,
and trust
that go together with love bond.
No one can stay in forest of forgotten
shards of ice,
your eyes are cold,
no tenderness awaits
cold phantom in the dark
you’re slowly turning to another world
one I can’t step into,
a bridge
where I can’t follow.
