It was dark,

But it was warm.

Comfort in ignorance.

I didn’t need anything more.

But it came for me.

I didn’t have a choice.

I was pulled from my home,

Bright white, fluorescent brilliance.

I yell; I didn’t know that I had a voice.

Why was I taken? Who is touching me?

Stop that! I don’t want to be here!

Warm. I’m warm again.

But it’s much too bright.

There’s too much noise.

Noise. I hear it. A beat.

Thump. Ba-dump. Ba-dump.

I’m safe. I’m home. I’m here.

Hello. That’s nice.

Welcome my sweetheart.

I’m safe. I’m home. I’m here.
