I usually get my story ideas from the most random things from daily life. Something will just interest me, and I will mull on it for awhile until it becomes the beginnings of a story. When it feels bursting to come out, I write and see where it takes me. For example, I’ve gotten story ideas from a scar, a jewelry box, wi-fi troubles, something that was said at work, and much more. My advice would be, when something catches your attention, give your brain time to ponder what it was about it that caught your attention. Was it the importance of memories, access to resources, or a tone that someone used? Could this be a concept to explore in a story?
