I’m a retired scientist living in Halifax, Nova Scotia and experimenting with creative writing. I’ve published numerous short stories and one poem. Several of these were written using the pen name Alan Kemister to keep a minimal degree of separation between my real science and the fictional variants in the stories.

I’m interested in both science fiction/dystopia and mystery genres. I’ve published, using my Alan Kemister pen name, two mysteries about a detective in a fictional town on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. My Current project is a precautionary saga about the dangers humanity could face if it doesn’t take climate change seriously.
