Livia Cret left a review on Auntie
Funny, Clever and Sensitive: a packed story
  • 4.6

This piece evokes a range of positive and negative emotions, but the ‘best-buds’ relationship between the narrator and the aunt is the one element that I think envelops the story in authenticity.
I could feel their relationship was genuine and that they cared for each other. Making Auntie cleverly funny while aware of her condition gives hope to the reader.
There is a latent gloominess in this piece, but it is treated as the rest of the family’s negativity, not stemming from the 2 characters’ interactions.
The colored scarf was such an intimate gift.
Good job with this piece!
